Manure Application Economics (Updated 5/16/07)

Effects of Swine Manure Applications on Soil Nutrient Levels and Phosphorus Loss Risk. This publication reports the changes in soil fertility levels for nine fields receiving biennial liquid swine finishing manure over a 7 year period. An 18-page bulletin containing information on standards for organic pork production, management of organically raised pigs, energy and protein sources, use of forages and pasture, and suggested organic diet formulations. This bulletin provides useful information for organic and natural pork production and use of alternative feedstuffs.
